Welcome

« Le Tour du mont Valin » biking edition is a sporting event that takes place in the Saguenay, in September, during the most beautiful autumnal color period. The event has 4 « cyclosportives » circuits (22km, 30lm, 48km, 63km) and one 90km raid which is the Fédération Québecoise des Sports Cyclistes du Québec « Coupe de Québec raids/marathons » finale. The event is held at the Valinouët ski station area and in the National Mont-Valin Parc, 30 minutes North of Chicoutimi, in the province of Québec. We welcome all mountain biking lovers.

Challenges

The 90km raid goes through a total difference in level of 1673 meters. It’s a wonderful circuit where mud holes are nonexistent and where challenges await you.

The 48 and 63km circuits are on forest paths with a breathtaking background where you will discover or rediscover the exhilarating « Bras des Canots » descents.

The 30km (Gengron Bicycle Circuit ) is a round circuit that goes from the Valinouët up to the National Mont-Valin Parc’s entrance and back.

The 22km circuit will bring you to the West side of the Valinouët where you will bike alongside the Hector creek and the « moose » lake. Take the time to look around and admire the breathtaking view all around you. This path has been specially redesigned for the Tour.

At any given time, the organization can remove a participant for security purposes.

Security

Security is taken care of by an organization called « Sauvetage 02 », assisted by the « Club Radios Amateur du Saguenay VE2 ». All the circuits are marked and all danger zones are identified. Five water points are scattered throughout the circuit. At each stopover, there is a first aid team ready to quickly intervene in case of an emergency. Each stopover is linked with the operation center by a team of communication professionals (Radio Amateur Saguenay) and they’re also linked to an emergency centre.
